Scott Milner received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
Scott is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been recognized in the “Best Lawyers in America” by Woodward/White, is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been consisistently selected annually as a “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Routers.
Scott specializes in litigated divorces involving complex estate issues as well as child custody cases. Scott also specializes in family law appeals and the pursuit of post-trial remedies.
Although Scott is well known for his courtroom advocacy, he firmly believes that the courtroom is a destination of last-resort. As a result, Scott is also well known for his skill in negotiating reasonable and creative solutions outside of the courtroom.
Scott is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, the Austin Bar Foundation, and is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Austin Bar Association, and the Williamson County Bar Association.
Away from the office, Scott enjoys anything that involves the outdoors, and spending time with his wife, Becky, daughters Mallory and Aubrey, and son Joseph.

- A Family Affair: Lessons in Civility in Uncivil Times (May, 2024): At this event, Scott presented to the judges and lawyers of Travis County on why civility is beneficial for client’s cases, even in high-conflict litigation.
- Getting it In and Keeping Out, A Family Lawyer’s Guide to Evidence, Family Law Essentials Seminar (November, 2008): At this seminar, Scott taught lawyers how to ensure evidence is admissible in court and also how to properly lodge evidentiary objections.
- Characterization and Tracing, Family Law Essentials Seminar (July, 2009): At this seminar, Scott taught family law lawyers and paralegals the rules of property characterization and the rules and methods for tracing separate property.
