Phil specializes in handling complicated marital property issues and pre- and post-marital agreements. He has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Routers and featured in Texas Monthly Magazine, 2003, 2004, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and he was honored with the Professionalism Award in 2010 by the Austin Bar Association and Texas Center for Legal Ethics. Phil is rated by Martindale-Hubbell as a “Pre-eminent AV” lawyer. He has also been awarded the J. Chrys Dougherty Award for outstanding pro bono service.
Phil graduated from Princeton University in 1966 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas in Austin in 1969. He is admitted to practice before the Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
